About HimalHomes
HimalHomes is a real-estate marketplace built for Nepal — connecting buyers, renters, homestay guests, and verified agents in one place. Our goal is to make property listings transparent, bilingual, and easy to navigate, whether you're searching for a home in Kathmandu, renting an apartment in Pokhara, booking a homestay in Bandipur, or investing in land outside the Valley.
What we're building
- Verified agents you can trust
- Listings in English and नेपाली side-by-side
- Land measurements in ropani, ana, bigha, dhur — alongside m² and sqft
- Bikram Sambat dates throughout the platform
- Free tools for buyers — EMI calculator, land-unit converter, and more
- A dedicated homestay marketplace with availability calendars, secure payments, and two-sided reviews
Homestays on HimalHomes
Beyond long-term sales and rentals, we run a homestay marketplace built for Nepal's guesthouses, B&Bs, and short-stay hosts. Travellers can browse availability, book the dates that suit them, and pay securely through Stripe. Hosts list their property for free, set their own nightly rate and cancellation policy, and connect their bank directly so guest payments arrive in their own account — HimalHomes never custody their funds.
- For guests: real-time availability calendars, transparent fees disclosed before booking, and reviews from past guests so you know what you're getting.
- For hosts: request-to-book by default (you approve every guest), strict cancellation as the platform default with full host customisation, and Stripe-handled payouts in your local currency.
- Two-sided reviews: guests review their stay and hosts review their guests. Reviews stay private until both sides submit (or 14 days after check-out), so neither side can retaliate against the other's honesty.
- NPR-first, USD-aware pricing: rates shown in Nepali rupees with USD shown alongside via cached daily exchange rates.
Browse the homestay marketplace, or if you've got a place to share, become a host.
